Maybe I'm being very stupid here but this is not a tag I use on my pages. I noticed it when looking at a competitor site who ranks highly.

I only use the normal title tag, does this one have an impact?

No, should have no impact on Google.

Repetition being the mother of skill: One thing that has an impact is inbound links. And inbound links.

And get lots of inbound links with keywords in the anchor text :)
