This interview [insight.zdnet.co.uk] with Google's chief technology officer, Craig Silverstein, appeared a couple of days ago, but I didn't see it posted here. He chats with a ZDNet reporter about futuristic technologies, competition in search, the Google server farm (and Linux lawsuit), the Google cache, and other topics. No great detail on any one topic, unfortunately, but worth a look.

A lot of the answers seem like they were crafted by the PR department.

I noticed my original link went to the second page of the article - it starts here: [insight.zdnet.co.uk...]

It's a typo. He really said 30 years. I think he was referring to the rumor that Googleplex will explode when the cookies expire.;)

Funny typo in the homepage newsfeed:

...another blurb about Googles fastasy engine of the future...

Google's already a FASTasy lol, I think you meant fantasy? ;)

spelling mistakes are common... lol.

But I see that Fastasy is somewhat near to Fantasy , but the s is no way near to the n but who cares, everybody who reads it can understand that its a spelling mistake and its really fantasy

lol

speaking of typing errors, try some common mistypings of verisign in your address-bar.;)
When you find it you might not notice.
