Geez... Two months! I guess I'll stop checking daily and start checking monthly.

Anyone else have any stories like this?

Hell yes, 6 months to get listed.. now it seems another 6 before google updates, thats as long as google dont drop the ODP..

Just when you think you have cracked it it all changes.. boo hoo, atleast PPC hasnt gone under too many changes, its probably the only way small sites will be able to compete with the big boys.

i have just had an absolute mare trying to get my site into dmoz. took four months which I know is a LOT less than others have to wait in really competitive fields like web design or shopping. Mine, by the way, was in history lesson plans! I was the only site waiting to be added but there was no editor and I had to wait an age.

anyway, back on topic....they had big server problems all thru spring and summer and even after my site eventually got added to editors.dmoz.org, it never went onto the public site for another three or four weeks...about two to three weeks back that was. so I would like to hope google was waiting for dmoz to sort themselves out and will now update.

by the way, ****.com is the dmoz forum for checking on submission status....I would go there monthly just to make sure I wasn't being forgotten. They had editall editors there that, despite protestations to the contrary, can sometimes feel sorry for a particular case and go and add your site personally. I am pretty sure that is what happened to me. alone in a queue for four months and I stayed civil and polite all the way thru and I got my reward in the end. There are many on that forum who have convinced themselves that yelling and slaggin of ODP is the way to go.

It's at least 5 months since google last took an RDF dump that actually appeared in their directory.

The category descriptions seem to have been phased in over the last 2 months, and, according to google search, the google directory knows that sites in the latest RDF are in there.

They are just not showing public side.
