Has Anyone's Site Fallen Recently?

Is there a update of some sort happening?

Although I haven't seen a lot of posts recently about rearrangement of the Google results, my site dropped drastically today. It has been ranked third for a competitive two-word phrase for a year, and now it is 40th or so. The site has not been changed and the pank rank has not changed. I have no links to farms, no hidden text, etc. I believe that the results for the two-word phrase other than my site have not changed.

Has anyone had this happen to them recently? Did Google all of a sudden decide to penalize me for something that I don't know about?

Strangely, I received a notice today that an Adsense account that provides ads for a completely unrelated site that I also own was terminated due to not following the conditions exactly. Would Google search out another site that I own and knock it down? I don't think that this is the case since my other sites weren't penalized yet.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this,
Roel

I saw a decrease of traffic by 30% on thuesday, but it's now up again.
I don't know why, but I'm quite happy that everything is good again.

zylstra,

Hover your pointer over the SERPs. Does this drop in rankings coincide with tracking codes in the status bar?

James_Dale,

Nope, no tracking codes.

Welcome to the club. My site has fallen since mid-August and it still isn't up again, whatever I try--and I have tried every trick in the book (no spamming--maybe I should try that as well...).

Hey cool!

My sites went up, maybe there really was some kind of an update! I love these results. Google keeps getting better and better. Love it.

Yes - My site has multiple pages that were in the top 10 results for various keywords/phrases and has been dropping slowly since July - August... Have no idea why, have not modified those pages much at all, although have been adding new pages to the site.

I'm seeing some allinanchor & corresponding SERP movement.
