PageRank has update on many of my internal pages today. Anyone know what whether this is part of a larger update, or what it is?

Does this make any sense? It's no big deal but pages that never had PageRank now have PageRank 2. There is no increase in backlinks, etc. I didn't realize Google would update the PR on pages but not the backlinks.

Me neither, on 4 different sites, all new pages are still PR 0, as they have been for about a month.

I don't see anything. I'd like to see a rolling PR/backlink update to complement the new system.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the PR update will happen on the weekend of October 4th. Pure speculation.

Junior - was the page rank assigned because the link had a? wild card in it? Google will give a PR2 rank to a non-google ranking URL if there is a? after it. Means nothing.

No, the site uses .htaccess so that all the pages appear as .html. A couple pages that do use? don't have any rank yet.
