All links are appearing unvisited

Or: why Google's redirect links are bad

I thought that something might be broken with my browser, but then I realized that Google is toying around again with link tracking...

The reason why I think it's really bad is because all the links appear to be fresh and unvisited. So when you are looking for information that is really difficult to find and you try a dozen of different keyword combinations, you always have to wade through all the links again because you don't know which has been visited already.

I think the reason is that Google changes the link parameters from search to search, so the same site has a different link on a different search.

This might be part of the reason that Google only does this on a small, testing scale, instead of rolling out redirects to track everything permanently.

Most every other engine has redirects in place all the time / I am glad Google is nicer than that.
