internal link text (anchor text)

I have a couple of inner pages (about 2000, PR from 1 to 4) that all link back to my homepage (and nowhere else)

I use a text link (e.g. "Homepage") and the company logo also links back to the home page.

Any idea if it could help me to replace "Homepage" with "Golden widgets" / "Silver Widgets" / ... on a couple of pages? If so, how many links per anchor text would you suggest?

I made the mistake before to put a link to my parent company on every page earlier and got a PR0 on the linked-to page (not site) for this, so this time I'd be grateful for some advice (before I break anything)

I always link back to the root with KW rich anchor text.

We also link to internal pages with anchor text. It helps drive Google to the right page for those keywords

Remember when linking back to the home page you should either link to / or to the file there (eg index.html, index.php etc) - don't mix them. This helps to maximize PR transference.

the_nerd,

Are you implying that there are negative consequences to PageRank if you use too many keyword rich anchor text to link back to your root?
