I noticed in my logs today that I had a visit from this IP 216.239.45.4. They were on my site for 11 seconds with 4 page views.

I went to the pages they went to to see why they would be visiting (as I am guessing this is a live person) and noticed that on 2 of the pages I had duplicates of my meta tags like desciptiion and keyword, author, and the content expires etc..

I use the template feature in Dreamweaver and must have inserted them twice some how. Out of 52 pages only 3 were like this.

My question I guess is this -

Did someone file a spam report on me?

If so, do i need to contact Google and let em know I fixed it?

Or I am I worried about nothing?

I don't see a need to worry. It could be someone checking URLs for Adsense or AdWords, or researching for work.

I don't know about Google but many companies let the staff shop, read the news or check sports scores in their lunch break.

I agree. The things you mention (duplicates of meta tags like desciptiion and keyword, author, and the content expires etc) are too common to trigger a duplicate content trigger.

LMAO :)

Absolutely no need for a human to visit to detect duplicate tags, they are very easy to detect algorithmically. Of course, since Google gives those tags zero weight I see no reason for them to care how many copies of them you have :)

Shawn, do they see the same content as standard users that view your site or do they get "different content"? If they see cloadifferent stuff, i'd better check for additional hits from another ip but with the same user agent ...

Nah, joking - double meta's isn't enough to be a reall bad boy. :D
