Will it boost my ranking if I get 1000 2-3 PR links?

How do you think if I get 1000 2-3PR links from 8 domains, will it boost my ranking in Google? Now I have 5PR.
My potential link partner promised me that there will be just my link on his pages.
Any advice I much appreciated.

Every "clean" link can help and anchor text alone could help you in rankings for those phrases.

But there is a dampening effect. 1000 links from eight domains won't buy you as much PR as it used to.

You'll get better results soliciting 10-20 links every evening before you go to bed. If you get one positive result out of forty emails, over time you can build up a more powerful website than by receiving a thousand links from eight domains.

One link from 100 domains is far more useful.

Think of it like this:

• Joe Politician receives 200 letters of encouragement from one person.
• Joan Politician receives 100 letters of encouragement from 100 people.

Who is more popular?

Bottom line, there aren't any shortcuts to building a quality website that merits being at the top of the serps.

There are other important reasons why it's preferred to have many inbounds from unique websites, but that's outside of the scope of this thread, and there are a lot of threads to dig into in the Links forum that can give you a good idea.
