Just found it completely by accident, i figured somebody in here might be interested. In this context, architecture refers to the hardware setup of the search engine and not the office buildings of the company:

Title: "Web Search For A Planet: The Google Cluster Architecture"
Authors: Luiz André Barroso, Jeffrey Dean, Urs Hölzle
Published in: IEEE MIcro, March/April 2003 (Vol. 23, No. 2), pp. 22-28
Magazine TOC (s-l-o-w page): [csdl.computer.org...]

Direct link, PDF (faster): [computer.org...]
Direct link, HTML (slow): [csdl.computer.org...]

Sorry if the link has been published before, i did a search and could not find it.
