I need to know if this is true or not.

Is additional weight is given by Google when the link to your page is from an .edu or .gov domian?

And if any extra weight is given, about how much more weight?

1.) 2 times as much?

2.) 5 times as much?

3.) 10 times as much?

4.) more than times as much?

5.)? times as much?

TIA

Since Google unfortunately does not disclose their algo I can only offer my opinion:
No extra weight.

Links from .edu or .gov sites are great to get because those sites often have excellent page rank, but I don't think .edu or .gov domains (or academic domains from other countries for that matter) are worth anything "extra".

Just to echo what others have said: nope, there's no special "boost" for .edu/.gov links.
