Greeting all,

I'm new here. I have browsed through many threads listed here. Good site! I have searched for an answer to my question and haven't seen it anywhere. Suppose I have two similar domains and they both have their own page rank and incoming links coming to them. Further suppose I use domain forwarding to point www.domainA.com to www.domainB.com. Will www.domainB.com now have all the links coming to it? Will the links that point to domain A be penalized? Does anyone here know how Google treats this situation? Thanks in advance for the answer. It is appreciated. I bought another domain that was expired and has a good page rank. I would like to know the best way to incorporate the two domains.

Peace,
Scott

I know the "PR" is forwarded if you use a 301 redirect, but I'm not sure if that will work with domain forwarding. Can you use a redirect?

No, I don't know how to do a 301 redirect. I do know that my web hosting doesn't charge anything to do a domain forward. They don't even charge a hosting fee, so that would be the way to go costwise, I would think. But whatever it takes. Meanwhile I'll look around for directions for the 301. If anyone has the answer I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

hi scottrmay, try doing a search in here for 301 redirect it will display what you are looking for.

If you cant find anything (wich i doubt) here are some guides:

[xoc.net...]
(IIS 301 redirect)

[tamingthebeast.net...]
(Apache 301 redirect)

hope this helps :)
