2 months back i came accross a website which had 300 guestbook links, and had pr5. last month it had 156 backlinks but still pr5 .. 2 days back after the update it had pr0 and 13 guestbook linkbacks ..
I have also seen this thing for some 10 or so sites that i used to watch for guestbook back links.
Apparently google has been working on it .. so the guestbook effect should disappear in sometime!

I don't have any personal data on observing guestbook links, but stats log links are disappearing too.

Stats logs links going away? Good news. Evidently GG brought that trick to the attention of the algo programmers. Now if they would only pay attention to sites with a hundred (or more) cloaked and identical gateway pages.
