Google Directory Partial Update?

Seeing evidence of new batch of ODP data

I'm seeing quite a number of new ODP Category & Description tags popping up, accurate to an edit long after the current contents of directory.google.com

I'm also seeing the beneficial effects of directory backlinks in there. It seems to me that google is using the new directory data, but not updating the public directory.google.com site - (possibly due to showing PR at this unstable time?).

This has been reported many times in the last three weeks.

Google has updated the SERPs with new categories, sites and ODP descriptions, but not the directory itself.

Allow a few more weeks for it all to be worked out.

Recently I've noticed a few pages of the Google Directory that mirror those same pages in very recent versions of the dmoz directory.

My guess is that Google has started updating its directory on a piecemeal basis.
