Meta Refresh

Will Google penalize a daily refresh?

I'm thinking of putting meta refreshes onto pages in one of my websites, purely to make sure that users always see the latest content and not some old version cached on their machine.

But I'm a bit worried that I'll be penalized in some way by Google and other search engines. I've read that they dislike meta refreshes because people often use them to redirect to new pages. I won't be redirecting - I just want the same page to reload, probably once a day.

Does anyone know if this'll hurt the site in the Google rankings?
