Not displaying images for googlebot

Hi there,

Do you think it would be a good idea not to display images when googlebot visits my site (there are about 30 images, each about 5Kb on my index page, all dynamically loaded from database). If yes, would I just have to check for the useragent and if it's googlebot not to display images?
