This morning I caught an interview on CNN about Google and Search Engines, I am not sure who was being interviewed but the reporter seemed to suggest that perhaps Vivisimo was a potential threat to Google.

I just tried it and each search I tried it just repeated its logo and search boxes all over the page which was very strange and not a single result.

What do you think does an engine like Vivisimo pose any threat to Google?

I wonder whether Google will now start looking at this, (is they were not already) - it makes sense helps people conduct searches and Google may well be able to do it without the need to look at other engines it could do it all through its own algo's and results.

I think the acquisition of Applied Semantic will help them to go on that direction.

Vivisimo is just more complicated. IMO, it's just not what the average searcher wanting. Otherwise more surfers would narrow a search with "quotes" or use advanced search or look beyond 2 result pages.
Is this cluster thing supposed to be new? There was a search site like "Search rocket" or something, that I remember doing the same thing.

Just did a search for our 3 main keywords - 3 of our sites are in the top 10 (sometimes twice as they are picking up one of our parked sites) and one of our sites is just showing the site map not the index page.

Even with this we have never seen a referral in our logs from them. They may eventually make an impact but like the others in the field they have a lot of filtering to do.
