It's interesting to see that expired domains still work. Tons of people still get top listing because they register expired domains and place hundreds of links pointing to their doorways. Of course these doorways rank high.

Despite the heatwave here in the UK my blood ran a little cold when I saw a Google banner ad at the top of Deleteddomains.com - I figure Google is sending a message to buyers of deleted domains that they are being watched!
