Hi

With all those dicussions here for keywords in domain names preferred by Google and other search engines, I would like to discuss what type of domain should one register.

Suppose, we would like to have the first name of our company along with the keywords. Suppose we have it as "xyz" and we have a 2 words keyphrase "key1 key2". Now shall we have it as:

www.xyzkey1key2.com
www.xyzkey1-key2.com
www.xyz-key1key2.com
www.xyz-key1-key2.com

Which one is better and why?

With same meta tags, same content, same links, (everything being the same) and searched for Google on the phrase "key1 key2", which one of the above would be given a preference?

How much does it affect to have keywords in domain name? Is is better to have a brand name (including a part of keyphrase) as a domain or a domain similar to above examples?

How would Google treat all of them?

Thanks & Regards

Guddu

guddu, there was a very lengthy discussion about this very thing about two weeks ago. It'll take a while, but if you go looking back in the forum a couple of weeks, it's worth reading.

Thanks marcia,

How did I missed them, I don't know. Anyways thanks for the information. I just read the posts and found that none of them is sure about the answer. However, I got the answer - take a domain that has few keywords in it and establishes a brand name that is easier to remember. Also, book both the hyphenated and non-hyphenated domains.

Thanks & Regards
