I miss the pre google update

I actually miss the nail-biting, teeth crunching update fever

Remember the old days, when you were sure to loose your nerve at that special week of the month, when PMS for webmasters kicks in, when our mood swings are our wifes worst nightmares.
Yes I miss those days. At least back then there would be closure. We would be miserable gits for a couple of days, but once the dance would start it would all be over.
I'll never forgive google for removing the Green Button.
Give us back the Green Button. let us fantasize about it (calm now!) let us imagine pushing it, let us think of the ways it can be pushed (no,no,no not like that and not with that thing either!) let us fever for the dance to begin so that our misery can at last be over.
Amen

Yeah we miss somethings in life only after they are gone :(

There is another thread which seems to me very much like a 'pre-update' fever thread if you ask me. There definately is still a 'time of the month' when google goes through and updates PR and backlinks (well, at least it updates what it shows us). Still enough to get excited about if you ask me, although a lot less nerve-racking than previously.

The Dance was such a good feedback.

A little hard sometimes. Very gentle sometimes. Extremely friendly very sometimes. A little late most of the times.
But at least it was there.
Once the Dance started you knew. You knew that you shooted the moon. Or that you totally messed up.

What do we have now? CONFUSION

But yeah..... must be better for the users. At least they have updated info during the whole month.

I like the idea of "Google and the web" constantly updating with new info, as opposed to one big update per month.

The problem is we're not there yet.

As someone already mentioned, all we have now is confusion!

On the positive side, my traffic from Google has increased at least 300% the last month or so. It seems to only take between 1-2 weeks at max. for a new page to appear in Google(Not a temporary freshbot boast, but a "permanant" spot).

Most of the times that page is able to rank within the top five.

So over-all i'm pleased with the new system.

there should be no confusion at all.

There is NO rolling update where fresh backlinks are taken into consideration yet. All you see is bot activity. Expect a traditional update very soon.

Nothing really has changed other than the extent of freshbot activity/reflection in SERPS.

We are seeing no update in the backlinks to some of our sites and we have been aggresively link building. I await the new update.
