But if after adding the subdomain, you want a new domain to point the subdomain, you will have two problems:
1st: If you want to get the new domain listed, you must submit it to the ODP. If you read their rules, you will see that they are not friendly with redirects and similar.
2nd: If you get listed both for the subdomain and for the new domain, google might find that the site is duplicated and penalize you, so beware.
I will make another question, very related:
I'm creating a new page, but i've no domain. I get a subdomain freely by letting the main domain owners put a lot of advertising on my site. I'm not worried about the ad. links, they are always dinamic so can't leak my PR. My question is ¿will my site get listed without problem? It is a new site, but it is in a subdomain.
<edit> Sorry! I forgot to thank you and to sign my post.
So Thanks

The site that dominates those first 3 pages has 2/10 PR and only a small handful of inbounds
