Google seems to be updating the Directory, at least the structure

One of my sites was admitted to DMOZ in early May. It was then moved to a new directory in about Mid May. Tonight, I noticed a huge jump in my rankings. Under my site was the proper directory listing, Widgets > Widget Guides / New Widget Category. However, when I clicked on it, it said that the directory doesn't exist. Anybody else noticing this? It seems like Google might be updating the directory structure, and then maybe updating the sites after..

I think someone mentioned seeing similar behavior recently. In their case, the directory link was shown under their listing in the SERPs. When they clicked the directory link, the category page was displayed but their site was not listed there.

I would guess that both this behavior and what you're seeing have the same cause - unknown cause at this point.

I've noticed in the past week or so that directory listings are showing below sites that weren't showing them previously (although the sites were in ODP).

Yes, see it now als0. Site moved to new category, shows new category in SERP. Clicking on it gives error.

I think bether2 was writing about this thread:
New OPD dump visible in SERPs - the directory not up to date at this time [webmasterworld.com]

From my own experience, this is normal behaviour. Search results may refer to entries in the Google directory before it is updated. After 7-10 days, it should work properly.

I think I was the one with the directory listing on the SERPs but not listed in the directory. What was weird about it was sometimes I was in, sometimes I was not, and that sites added after mine were always in. It seemed to be my site that was floating about, but then I noticed a couple others. I still can't explain it.

I also have a site that got into DMOZ last month and while the site is in Google search, it is not in Google directory. A month, though, is surely too soon to be worrying about that.
