Buying / Selling / Exchanging Links

I own several websites and some of them are PR6, PR5, PR4 and lower ones ofcourse.

Now one of HIGH business minded person from UK contacted me and via email as he found one of my PR5 websites and offered me $10$ per link to his website from my PR5 website and offered me more money for links from high PR websites to him.

He offered me advance for 3 months, payment via Paypal.
I denied since the website was a Viagra website and it would ceryainly help me loose my professional image as the website where he wanted me to put his link is my Primary Business Website! And I don't think I would want a Viagra or any other 3rd party link over there.

With this post, I just wanted to know from the BIG SEO Bosses that is Buying / Selling / Exchanging Links LEGAL?

IS it good for the Site Owner who is selling the link?
Is it good for the Site who is buying the link?

I personally don't believe in buying or selling links, especially for PR. However, other people may have other views. I certainly wouldn't jepodise my site for the sake of a $10 link.

I would like to tell you that I also share the same feelings. NOT SELLING LINKS FOR PR. THAT IS WHY I CAME FORWARD TO DISCUSSING THIS here with the BIG Bosses like you. Thanks for your attention SIR.

$10 is nothing.
but pr5 is easy also.
I guess the viaga site is desperate. they can not get link anywhere.

I would say stay off it.
you will not gain much from it, even with a non-vigra site.
