google linkage and PR

Just a quickie... Which is worth more;

Having 1 backlink from the main page of a site, say PR4.

or

Having 150 links all from pages with PR 2 - 4 (all in the same domain).

What about both together, and how significant are the differences?

I would definitly go with the

Having 1 backlink from the main page of a site, say PR4.

The other option could be seen as linking spam and as such the links won't be given much weight.

All Senior Members please pass on information as to how and why are PR links counted as spam and how is this ascertained by Search Engine when there are genuine links.
