I've been reading here and asking around for over a month and I can't get an answer. Our site went from a PR 4 with a 4th place listing for our target key word phrase to nowhere to be found. Now the site has a PR 1 and internal pages of PR 0. I checked backlinks and I haven't signed up for any spamy services, etc. I just focus on good key word concentration and key word density is all. I'm by the book.

Where can I go for help? How can I figure this out?

This took place in the last index and also appears to be the case in the new update.

My URL is in my NIC. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Why are you checking your backlinks?

You should be checking your *outbound* links - check every site you link to for PR0's - you could be linking to a bad site.

Thanks to those who sticky'd me. The response I received is that I didn't have any back links.

THIS IS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM.

I used to have a dozens, upon dozens of backlinks. But with the last crawl, Google is not recognizing my backlinks. I do have them, and they are solid and relevant. I've doublechecked and these sites are still linking to me. Any ideas as to why Google is not finding them after having found them before?

Hi foamyflop,

If you are looking at www-sj/fi/2/3 the same happens to me on some sites. This is because not all the data has been dumped in yet. Let's wait a few days.

We are in the middle of a new type of google update. serps are being slowly migrated in (you can see this at sj). This effects newer sites more than older, but all have seen drops in backlinks.

I would be patient about seeing your backlinks reappear.

For more information check out the threads with 500 posts and sj in the title. There are a few good informative posts in there. Pay attention to the comments GoogleGuy says. If he points out that somone has it right, go look at what that guy said.

That said, a PR1 or 0 is awfully low.... are you doing anything naughty? Check yourself, and if not, wait for this update to settle.

Thanks Gonzalez.

I was looking at that, but my main concern is this happened with the last index (last month). I decided to wait it out, cause i thought it was a glitch. Now that i am looking at some of the new results the situation is still the same. Now i am scared. My business have dropped significantly. And I cant seem to find an answer anywhere.

Keeping the hope alive here for some input.

EDIT>

Thx deft_spyder - nothing naughty. nothing at all. don't even know how to be naughty.
