I submitted my site in March. After about 3 weeks, it was finally indexed - for 2 days - then dropped. Over the next weeks this has happened several more times. When can I expect to be picked up permanently? Thanks for any feedback!

Hi there!

I had the same problem with my new website-projects. I did three by the way; all registered around 15th Feb. 2003. the search engine seems to check if there is something going on on that website and then decides to put you in or not. well, thats what i read in this forum anywhere.

my site was listed by the end of march for the first time - only showing up the cached "coming soon" site from february.

the new update which is called "Dominic" doesn't show ANY of my pages yet on www2 & www3.

just one "fun-project" went up one place on a special keyword combination.

You'll have to wait for the google dance to start properly, then check the new index.

May be worth a quick look at www-sj.google.com to see if you're in there, but it's not the be and end all.

You will get in permanently in the dance following a deep crawl.

At the moment you're only in the index through freshbot listings.

Thanks trillianjedi. I checked [www-sj.google.com...] and found my site! What exactly does that mean? I am still not showing up in the regular Google index.

Well, a couple of hours ago I would have said that means you will probably be in the new google index when that data gets populated around the other datacenters.

Now, to be completely honest, I'm not sure!

If it is the new index, you will be in google (probably) after this next dance (should be soon, if it happens at all and they don't keep moving the goalposts!).

If it's not the new index, heaven only knows.

But at least you'll know for sure in a few days time.
