software that can search PR

As far as I understood -querying google for PR automatically is forbidden.
I got an email today from a company saying it sell the software that can give me a list of all the reciprocal links to my site and their page rank.
I download the trail version and it did not work.

Are there software like that I the market? Is it not legal to use them?

Is there any way I can get the process of finding a partner with high PR get faster somehow, or I should try one by one? Can I just ‘rent’ a link with PR9 from someone or it is not heard of?

Software automatically querying Google is not illegal, it's against Google's TOS. Using such software is risky.

Similarly buying or renting links is a gray area. Google of course strongly discourages you to do so, as it screws their algo.
You might want to head over to the Link Development forum, where you'll find some good discussions on building links.

You don't need to search PR using a software, that's for newbies and for the company itself to make money.

If you need a PR list, just search for .com or .net ...
