My site is banned, but it is being crawled.?

Does this mean I will be back in soon?

Our bodybuilding site was banned recently for reasons that I am not 100% sure. I have researched it like crazy and removed anything that could even possibly be spam. Of course, with over 7000 pages of REAL, VALUABLE content, this was not a fun task.

I e-mailed Google for re-inclusion and they said they would submit it for reinclusion. Great! Now I just have no idea when or if we will be back in. I guess I just have to wait.

I checked my logs and Googlebot is still visiting our site! Yesterday there was 700 hits from Googlebot. If our site was banned, why would Googlebot be visiting? Is this normal or does this mean that we are unbanned and may be back in soon?

Just curious if banned sites would get any hits from Googlebot.

Thanks,
Ryan

I had a site that was "banned" or at least, PageRank 0 for more than a year and change. During which time, Google never stopped spidering it.

They are good at putting sites that have asked back in their db, if the site is clean, in due time - either an update or two.

Welcome to Webmaster World!

If your site wasn't being crawled before then I'd say it's a good thing.

I've had a similar experience as you with Google and after their reply to my asking for reinclusion I was crawled (freshbot) within a few days. Included in SERPs after an update.

Good Luck (and thanks for cleaning up).

How long do they gen. take to reply to a reinclusion request?

vnsampat,

Welcome to Webmaster World!

I imagine it's a first come, first serve thing. They'll reply when they get to it.
