Mouseovers - good bad or ugly?

Okay, there is a debate going on at another site I visit...

What does googlebot think of mouseover coding used to turn long links into short links as they appear on a surfer's toolbar?

instead of widgetsite1.com/user/pass/linkcode=9990879&page = 3 a mouseover shows worldofwidgets.com (this is the world of widgets click thru program).

Is that considered deceptive or misleading?

Are you talking about using the status method to make it say something different in the status bar at the bottom than the link? I really don't think google cares. I would have to see a lot of proof that Google looks for this. A lot of WYSIWYG editors do this and it is very common on the web.

I posted this in another thread - but just to point out - google does this on adwords - I doubt they have a problem with it.
