How come Nominet, one of the largest servers of the internet, are allowed to use hidden links? Ok, they appear onMouseover, but so did mine....... but I get banned!

Sorry, they're the place that you register .co.uk domains. Still, top level stuff and allowed hidden links.....

Are you whining about your site getting banned or someone elses site still alive? Sorry to use the word whining but when you bring it into comparison on how yours did this and theirs didnt do it to me it sounds like it.

So lets talk about hidden links, how hidden are they, what are they doing, how many people link to them and so forth.

If your trying to compare -- compare their code methods against yours, why was yours found out, automated or by someone submitting you as a spammer? If it was code, and lets asume nobody submitted you as spamming then we should look at why your sites code got you cought and theirs didnt, style of your code? method you pull the code?

Hello Mark. If that site was penalised after human review I'd be amazed.

Google are working on automatic filters, so it will be interesting to see if any big-name sites get hit. I can only imagine that they're carefully considering cases such as onmouseover navigation or 'hover for the answer' type situations.

As for your site; I got a parking ticket today. No difference from almost every other night for the last couple of months. No point complaining I got hit today, no point complaining I didn't get hit before. It's just how it goes.

I have no I idea why mine was banned, its impossible to find out. Apparently it's done automatically, but how come they can get away with it?

Whining...... what else is there to do? I'm not going to enter their URL to Google, there would be no point. Nominet are to big for Google to ban, but the little guy is always easier to pick on..........

Maybe if I winge long and hard enough, someone might hear, look at my site and get me re-indexed.

Solution for reindexing? Figure out what happened, since you feel you know -- rectify it and get more links going to your site to help speed up reinclusion process. If you think your site went under a ban after ya fix it up follow the reinclusion steps as discussed on WebmasterWorld and wait and see :D

I know the solution, well I hope I do, and I've got my site working, But why do I have to change my site when the big commercial sites are allowed to get away with it?

Now, Google should either ban that site ( I'd like to see them LOL ) or allow me to go back to my original design. What is it?

Neither :D They make the rules, not govern'd by anyone else. I think a lot of who gets banned and who doesnt also depends on how big you are and how useful you are and how useful OTHER PEOPLE "THINK" you are. :D

But we are told Google doesn't work like that. It doesn't work by popularity, only by content. Google makes the rules, and they say no hidden links or text. I thought that means no hidden links or text, not no links or hidden text unless your a big site? Or no hidden links unless your site is popular.......

Plus dynamic text and links can improve a site, as it does with Nominet's. They have too much info to deliver, so they make only the relevent info appear to the user. That was my goal also, but like I said earlier, its different rules for us as it is for them, the rich get richer and the poor get banned.
