Hi,

There is a new logo on www.google.nl to celebrate "Koninginnedag" (queensday) in the Netherlands.

Cheers,

Eelke.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]!

You can find a lot of specific Dutch info [webmasterworld.com] in the European Forums [webmasterworld.com].

Yes Visser,

welcome to WebmasterWorld as well. Always good to have a few more Dutch around.

For the non-Dutch, Queens day (the queen-mum's birthday) is a national bank holliday (official free day).

It's raining now, which is why I'm online, otherwise everyone is outside having fun.

I'm not sure Google does a good thing on showing the Queens logo on google.be though. That could be quite touchy..

Did you try clicking on the logo?

Funny :)

They twisted the search term so that exactly the right page on the right (official) domain would be first in the search results ...

== I can see it also on google.be ==

Indeed and this is seen and spoken about in many Dutch spoken Belgian forums.

They're all 'cynic' about this Google 'bug' :-)

Flemish people are not happy when they are associated with the Netherlands...
Some are even speculating if our king uses Google and what his reaction would be

Never bothered me...

Well it would be better if they just showed the logo on google.nl, instead they showed it to everybody who has dutch as interface language (if you set your language to english on google.nl the logo disappears). But it's not very polite towards the Belgian people, I guess they overlooked this issue ...
