Lack of fresh dates since update?

To my knowledge I have only seen 4 fresh dates since the main update.

If I am wrong please tell me, what I have seen is 16th, 17th then 24th and 26th if any other dates have been shown tell me because I have checked every day!

I have one on one of my pages today of 4/27/03. It was there yesterday too.

I have checked all servers. I have not seen the 27th someone else pointed it out but things are not normal this month!

Another thing that is strange is a new web site 3 months old Pr 4 with only 10 backlinks receives freshbot, However a site that is 5 months old Pr 4 with 80 backlinks and updated every 4 days or so has no fresh bot? Why?

The page I have the 4/27 fresh tag on is a brand new domain, with only one page in it. It took a week and a half or so before it showed up.

The pages on my other sites that I usually see fresh tags haven't had any this month (at least when I have checked).

The pages that link to the index page of this new domain, do not show fresh tags either. Very odd considering that the freshbot had to visit those pages to find this new domain.

I had a 4/27 fresh tag also on one of my fairly new domains. Maybe it has something to do with time in the index. I doubt it though.

Seems all the news sites have fresh content as of the 25th...but no fresh tags.

this is the first month i am seeing internal pages from 8 weeks ago and well linked from within the site still not indexed..not even a freshbot when it comes round..google is starting to creak!

My pages get hit by the frshbot every day still but rarely seem to get the fresh tag anymore. Also, new pages were getting in quickly before and now could take a week or so.

I hope they are testing new algos to kick out the spam.

I find it hard to believe that Google would test new algos on a live main database. I thought Google would be able to test all new algos etc on an internal server. So they would copy a current database and run tests on it internally and not for every tom dick and harry to see.

I have some sites that always get fresh dates that have been updated by me but the current versions are not in Google.

Does anyone know when its freshbots birthday?

I suspect they are moving to a system of calculating PR in real time.(they filed a patent to this effect a few months ago) So the distiction between freshbot and deepbot won't be as great anymore...

That is interesting, and something that I have suspected would happen. Also considering the odd results that appeared on www-sj over the weekend, they may certainly be testing this. Where did you see about the patent that they filed? This is the first I have heard about it.

I would like to see some sort of fresh update in the meantime, though.

Not really, but I keep following these freshbot threads anyway. I think it's just a feeling that things aren't quite right.

I guess I got used to having my new pages and even new information on a page showing up in the serps within 2 or 3 days and that isn't happening anymore.

Just btw, no fresh tags!= stale. Often we show results newer than the main index and just don't add the fresh tags..

I got a few sites that have been getting "freshbot" and "have changed alot" but, no new tags for the (inner pages) which have changed as well. BTW, all pages have change some but, only the index page has freshbot. Googleguy?

I have seen a lot of fresh content but not always fresh tags.

My own website has been visited every other day like clockwork and fresh content has appeared - and stuck (Any one noticed that not so many comments from new website owners saying I was in Google and then dropped - this maybe due to the pages sticking)

I think I saw the first signs of this the update before last - maybe it is all connected with the larger gaps between the main updates - guessing now?

I would like to ask Google Guy how long would it be until we have updates every two weeks instead of once a month?

If Google can do fresh bot why not update more often?

I understand the position of the extra bandwidth but seems to be a race against time for all search engines now to provide more up to date results then ever.

I have added some new pages in my site nearly every week and seems a big shame that it still takes sometimes 6 weeks before its included in Google.

So how about an update every two weeks?

We're always getting fresher, lasko. That's part of the goal of the FreshBot--to provide fresher content between each index..

Most of the sites I manage and which have a decent PageRank, have got spidered by FreshBot and even updated in the index. However Google conveniently forgets to display Fresh tags for these (er well, most of the time).

I believe Google wants us to develop this habit of checking out the content instead of just looking at Fresh tag.

I'll tell you something interesting. I was regularly checking Google for my site. When I see there is a fresh tag, I will really sit down and study rankings for all sites I am responsible for. Now I have to do more work every time.

BTW, GG, I really appreciate this soft merging of the new data with the main index. I had got in the habit of only checking sites which had Fresh tags assuming all others were stale ;)

I've not seen Freshbot since the 27th and running a quick search on my top phrase reveals that only a couple of sites in the top 100 results have a fresh tag of the 29th. Nothing to worry about i'm sure.

I think it various, I have had pages crawled and then index perhaps within 6 hours - not often though.

Most often I find they appear 24 hours (ish) after and stay for about 48. - although recently i think they are sticking more

Others may have seen different time lags.

I was spidered around the beginning of April by deep, and I haven't been fully freshed since.(It's hit one orphan page since). When I make the update in May(god willing) will I begin to get freshed more often then? I show up on the www-sj search, but not on Google, so hopefully this means I will be put into the update.
