a quick question for you good folks.

my site handles both upper and lower case strings, e.g Widget/Blue or widget/blue or Widget/blue will return the same content.

is google clever enough to see this as not being duplicate content?

This might not be the right answer but I believe Go60Guy asked Google Matt at the conference about duplicate content and this sounds like one of those 'types' of dublicate content that may not raise a red flag. Forgive me if I got that wrong or if I'm not clear on your question.

I recall hearing that Google is not case sensitive. For example, search for "red cars" and then "ReD CaRs". You'll get the same results.

Whether or not that would cause an issue though, is beyond me. Just what i've heard and see in the SERPS.
