Deep linking from one domain to another

Hey folks,

I have a site that has a ton of articles written by many different people. One of the guys that writes articles for us also places the articles he's written on his own website and then links from that page to the article deep within our own page. So, in effect, he's deep cross linking from his site to ours with duplicate content. Is this almost essentially spam and will my site get dinged for it? It wouldn't be bad if it was only a couple, but we're talking well over a hundred deep links from his site to ours. Not to mention the duplicate content. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks,

AL.

I don't believe this will be a problem at all. Only two domains involved, and presumably at least one of them has other inbound links; a great deal of _non_-duplicated content, etc.

He may find that the pages with his copy of his articles disappear from the search engines in favor of your copy, but that's only a problem if he's doing this to TRY to get duplicate pages listed -- i.e. TRYING to spam.

If your site ever disappears, or the business deal expires and his articles are removed from your site, his copy of the articles would just re-appear.
