Dear all
I have a fair experience of getting flat sites indexed with pretty good results - by writing good content and linking effectively etc. However I am now in charge of getting a companies sites indexed on Google and they are dynamic using a unique system called csp (cache server pages)which nobody seems to have heard of though I am assured its cutting edge (who knows?:-).

However we have page rank zero for all 5 or so sites and I am wondering if anyone can teel me why.
The home pages, - widgetsa.com, widgetsb.com all redirect (redirect or resolve? - I am completely unsure if its the same and beieve search engines may not like this kind of redirect if it is one) to URLs like:

[widgetsa.com...]

Can anyone say - is this why they all rank as zero? - is this URL not actually seen as a proper web address. Please help. Thankyou very much for any advice you can give.

Welcome to Webmaster World!

Do the sites have any incoming links from other websites on the net?

Thanks for the quick response

around 20 links each - not many - does zero page rank simply no links? What about usage....

These sites take 5000 orders per month (based purely on paper mailouts with the web address printed on them - the sites appear nowhere in web search results) visited by several 1000 people per day and have been up for 3 years and zero page rank feels more like a penalty since our plc site (same time/links) has pr5.

A bit odd which is why I wondered if there was a problem. All the sites that rank for our keywords resolve to a domain widgets.com with no extra dinamic stuff - not
[widgets.com...]

asps get indexed, phps, but I never saw a .csp indexed?

I can't comment on the CSP stuff as it's something I know nothing about, so was thinking of other angles that may cause the problem. I'm sure someone will come back to you on that point.

In the meantime, yes, you only get PR passed to you from inbound links. No inbound links = PR0.

PR0 can also mean a penalty. Has the site or domain ever been involved with any link exchange programs or Webmaster Gold or anything like that - the "$99 and we'll make you top of the rankings" style stuff?

There is an online spider test engine on this site (cant remember the link, but should be easy to find). Why don't you give that a try and see if it can navigate its way around your homepage?
