There seems to be conflicting advice regarding the number of links on your site affecting your general PR rating.. Some say outbound links have a detremental affect and other say they dont..
In the end i cut down my link list to about 10 quality linked sites (that have me linked) and threw aside the ones that didnt link to me.
To remedy this further i disallowed the link.htm file in my robots.txt, will i get slapped for that?
If I understand what you mean by "general page rank" then a good link structure is good, the more pages in your site that link to another, the more PR the second page will get. So if every page on your site links to every other page on the site then all pages will have very similar PR.
But pages wich are only linked by one page on your site, or a few will generally have a lower PR, but will have some.
This is of course totally ignoring inbound links from other sites.
