Everybody knows that the text in inbound links is very important. But I was wondering:
Anybody has trustworthy information about the influence of text links? Are its weight more important because of:
- The number of text links pointing to a page?
- The PR of the referring page (independently of the number of outbound links)?
- The PR transmitted with the text link?
Also, intuitively I suppose that text links from other sites/IPs will have more weight that the ones present in the same site, but, can anybody confirm that?

I'd say that link text (but not PageRank) is better when from another domain.
The PR from the referring page makes a difference but in my opinion the number of links from outside has a significant bearing, assuming relevant link text.
As for whether the information's trustworthy, you'll need to decide for yourself. :-)
If lots of pages are linking to you with the anchor text "moon vacations", then you will probably find yourself #1 for "moon vacations" in Google. You will also increase your rankings for "moon" and "vacations".
