We have deleted the sub domain "ABC" from our domain something.com, but it is still showing in the search results. We would like the URL www.something.com to be shown not ABC.something.com in the search results.

Any help will be appreciated.

sourav, what is the time frame involved? You surely know Google only updates their index about once a month?

Wouldn't it make more sense to use the answer to everything - a 301 redirect? It'd save users getting a page not found error when browsing through from Google et al; and ought to help Google trace where the subdomain now ought to go.

Not to metion using 301 redirects on abc.something.com -> www.something.com will pass on PageRank.

Expect at least one deep-crawl followed by an index update to get your updated domain results showing in Google.
