Is it worth the time to email Google

regarding a possibly penalized website.

I've been tempted to email Google and explain my situation regarding a site that may have been penalized. Would I be wasting my time or is it a good idea? Would it actually get to anybody that would read it?

I HAD duplicate pages for my website because of alternate pricing and I believe it caused some problems. Ive tried to correct the problem by getting a new domain name but I believe its still being penalized.

Thanks for the responses on my first post...unfortunately, I may be a leech of information for some time before I can accurately contribute to this dicussion board. :-)

THANKS!

I would also like to know the email address from which you got the reply.

I have posted 2 messages to Google at "comments" and "help" but just got an automated reply. No reply from anyone at Google answering my queries. And its over a month waiting.

Thanks to Googleguy and others, who answered some of my questions in the forum.

I emailed webmaster@google.com with 'Reinclusion Request' in subject. I explained why i thought the site had been penalised and said that the problems had been fixed. They wrote back a few days later thanking me for the letter, saying they would 'investigate', and asking for patience. I'm still not holding my breath though.

Thanks

But my queries were related to Google search in general, site crawls and updates, the link: search, date of updation shown along with refreshed listings but not appearing afterwards, and so on ...

I got some of the answers to my questions in the forum but there are more. Can you suggest, to which email id for Google I should post the message for such queries?

I got my queries at Google Adwords answered in no time. However, its a pity that Google search answers have to be found outside Google. (I understand, that Google being so popular, they would be receiving a lot many queries per day. But, atleast they should answer them within a month before the Google Update so that necessary changes can be made. Hope, this would be highly appreciated by all.)
