Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]!
The situation you describe indicates that Google is aware of your page, having found a link to it, but has not yet spidered the page. Therefore, it does not know the title or description of the page, and cannot match words on the page to search terms entered in the search form.
Inclusion in Google takes anywhere from 30 to 60 days. Spend this time getting incoming links and writing more content. Submitting to Google is not enough to keep your pages in the index; you must have incoming links from other sites in the Google index.
Google's 'Freshbot" may pick up your page(s) and list it temporarily - appearing for a few days, then disappearing. Sometimes it will reappear, and sometimes not, depending on whether you update the page and how many incoming links you have. This "in-and-out" is completely normal for new sites, so don't panic. I would hazard a guess that since you've missed the recent deep crawl, it will take about 45 days for your pages to be listed "permanently" in the Google index.
