I get different results (very minor) in ranking with the above 2 data center. Either the database is different of the algo is different. Any one got any observation?

Google Directory also switch back and forth with new/old index. U guess it is because it loads from different data center.

Phew, I posted on this about a week ago!

I too am getting different results for keywords that I am watching.

I went to Yahoo! and Alexa and lo and behold, the SERPS from those 'engines' matched the results that I would get on www-sj. Sticky me if you want an example!

Sooo, it seems that from what I can see, -sj is serving up serps for Alexa and Yahoo!, and man are they ever spam lite (for my searches anyway).

(btw, the backlinks show the same for -sj as the other datacenters, cause they are pulling from the same data, it's the SERPS that are different)

They probably have replication setup to replicate the database from one of thier datacenters out to yahoo and aol etc.

I had assumed up until a couple of dances ago that all eight datacenters (16 I guess) were available when you typed in google.com. But now it seems that some may be used for their affiliates. Not really exciting news SEO wise, just an interesting find.
