I recently changed web hosting company, which resulted in a change in the DNS server. While the DNS transfer was been processed, i optimised my index page with
google in mind.

The optimised index page only went live late this week and am sure we missed the googlebot deepcrawl. Am just wanted to find out if anyone has a rough idea of when the next deepcrawl is going to take place.

Is there anything else i must do in order for the googlebot to index our site in the new server, or does google update its DNS on a regular basis. I appreciate the feedback guys.

On our sites the deepcrawling for late April/May update has started on 15-16 of April. At the moment the crawling seems to have stopped.
My guess it that either your site was indexed on your old server at the beginning of the weeks or will have to wait till the May/June update (3-4 weeks from now). I recommend you to ask your previous ISP your traffic logs and take a look at the last days before the DNS change.

From what I've read, Google has its own DNS database (to avoid the nslookup interrogations and thus to increase the crawling speed) and updates it regularly so you don't have to notice them the DNS change. If they use the same system as the major ISPs they must update their DNS database each 24-48 hours.

I would imagine that your optimized site missed the deep crawl. But the good news is that Freshbot will probably pick you up and give you a good everflux before the next update.

Good luck!
