Webring?

Hello everybody

Can anyone advise me what exactly is a "Webring"?

Will I get into trouble with google if I were to join? Is it against google's TOS?

Any advise appreciated.

I have a site which is a member of several webrings for the last 6 months and has had no problems with Google. Its PR is 4.
I suspect that Google simply ignores webrings, and that they confer no pagerank.

A webring is simply a group of sites usually related by theme. Each site has a piece of code that links it to the previous site in the ring, and the next site in the ring, so that users can just follow the links from one site to the next.

It might bring you some traffic and has no effect on page rank.
