Originally it took a long time for us to get into google, but it has now spidered us very deeply and I am extremely happy with the results.
Searching for our main keywords we are always in the top 10 and we are also being returned on abstract posts. Basically its a computer security forum with lots of other sections and google had indexed a lot of the threads even the off topic ones so we get referrers from lots of different keywords, the googlebot seems to be permanently on the site.
So back to my original question, our PR rating is 6 which seems fine but how could I go about increasing this further?
We link to a lot of sites both on a dedicated links page and constantly throughout the forum, and quite a lot link back to us from various other boards, sites etc.
We have meta tags, relevant page text but im just wondering what is the best way to increase the PR.
Can smaller sites get a perfect 10 rating?
Ive noticed even bt.co.uk and .com have ratings of 7/8 respectively whereas microsoft.com has 10
Any help most appreciated

Forget about focusing on PR .. if you are doing well with your words you were aiming for, just keep at that. You want hits ... targetted hits .. from search engines, not some green bar that is more full than empty ;)
