How Google weights different links

I wanted to find out which links that are pointing to my website (google-- link:www.domain.com) have the most "weight" in Google.

I know how the basic weighting works (# of links on page & pagerank).. But is there any way I can view which links are most benficial to my website?

Maybe some way of Sorting the pages that are linked to me based upon how "good" of a link they provide.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Sorry, there is no easy solution. If you feel that you really need that info (as opposed to "it would be neat to know") you will have to go to each site, check the PR, and count the links :(

Also remember that the real PR that Google uses is:

1. Changed to a log, and
2. Truncated to an integer

before display. So a PR 8 with 10 links gives you a lot more than a PR 7 with 5 links. A simple division would lead to the opposite conclusion.

Also a PR that shows as 8 may be 8.001 or 8.999 internally, that is a huge difference.

Ok.. Then is there anyway to determine if your website is a higher PR7 or a lower PR7 if you wanted to?

Just a way to judge where you stand at the time being.

You can combine the toolbar PR with the less well known directory PR, see the thread [webmasterworld.com...] for details.
