I suspect that Google is undertaking I.P. based results differentiation for US users of their main Google.com. I am seeing a substantial drop in my traffic from Google.com of US based users.
I thus asked some friends to run results serach terms for me in the US, and they have reported very different results from what I am seeing here outside the US.

Could US based users please sticky me, so that we can investigate this further.

Namaste, in the meantime you might want to do a site search on geo-targeting.

Are you talking about sites other than .com or just hosted with servers and IP numbers in countries other than the U.S.?

Namaste, just set some US based proxy in your browser and you can check if this is true for yourself.
