I'm still bouncing around as of last night. Update still in progress?

My site jumped around last night again. At what point do we know that the update is over and the results (with the exception of freshbot and everflux influences) are stable?

when the indexes on www, www2 & www3 are all the same (do a backlink check)

AND, also when the 5 live datacentres are all in sync, again check backlinks.

datacentres are:
www-ab
www-dc
www-ex
www-in
www-va

at the moment, all except www-in are using the new index, so we're just waiting on the 1!

wruk999... On one of my keywords, total results (and my positions) are consistent on www2, www3, ab, dc, ex, and va, but www.google is bouncing back and forth with the www-in results that you mentioned.

I'm hoping that this is temporary, as the other 6 results provide better positioning for my keywords.

.... maybe we'll get an earlier-than-usual finish to this dance.

hi netguy,

the results on www. will depend on which datacentre you get redirected to. if your search is performed at one of the others (www-in at the moment) you will get the old index. as soon as all the datacentres are accross, then _every_ search on www will be performed on the new index.

does this clear up your queries?

The original results on "ex" worked better for me! Even the "in" results are better. It does appear that the new indexing is going to be the current www/www2/www3 results. What a shame. I'd been #4 for one of my keywords for the last few days. The new results list me at #10. Any chance the tide will turn again?
