www3 is identical to www2 [always]

when was the last time you saw them different?

hello,

not really important. But I am curious if anyone has _ever_ seen different
results from www2.google.com compared to www3.google.com.
I never did. They were always the same to me, with all queries that I tried.

Simple question: Why not forgetting about www3?

Or is this one of these "lets use it, since it does exist" thingies?

Google can point those to whichever data center they like.

It depends on how you define different. While the order of results is often the same, the page count numbers often aren't.
