Don't know if anybody mentioned this, yet.

Funny -- three weeks ago I e-mailed customer service at the Times about how terrible and buggy their search was. In fact, the Times' search has been pretty terrible since the site launched. Today I notice that the search is now powered by Google...

A search provides a list of relevant news articles, with some of the same AdWord advertisers listed to the right. There's also a link at the top to see "Web results from Google."

I kind of checked this out when I went to the Times yesterday and couldn't see what you were talking about. Checked again a few minutes ago after clearing my cache and sure 'nuf, it's there.

But talk about unobtrusive -- almost too easy to overlook. I even had to look twice to see that they had an 'articles' button on the web results page.
