Also, between each update, how many times (on average) does googlebot visit your site?
The google dance tool said that bbc1 had -1 backlinks on www... then I refreshed and it said that CNN had -1 backlinks... i thought that was odd. how can you have -1 backlinks?
then the webmasters world waiting for google update tool had yahoo backlinks as blank....
I guess I still have a lot of learning to do about this dance thing..

Thats exactly what I saw as well earlier Actor_Mike. Also the "Status" said an update was possible...

Is it possible that they're going to go ahead to a nromal schedule, by having a series of very late updates (essentially skipping a month) instead of having two quick updates in one month?
It's already April 8th here in Japan and still we cannot say hello to Cassandra. It looks like Cassandra and Delphi will be twins (i.e. March and April update at the same time).
OK.. so other people are seeing the same thing (sorta, I saw no backlinks for www, not www2) in this thread and the other update thread.
I feel a little better then, at least it is something noteworthy, even if it is not the actual update.

If you search the 3 db's in Opera, you get slightly different results than you do in IE. Though the difference in Serp's is between the Browsers, and not the farms.
For info about the update it's easiest for you to use the site search. It's all there if you spend a while reading around.
I'm starting to think that Google should everflux less and deepcrawl/update more often if it's a server issue. This get's interminable. Almost 5 weeks now, sheesh.
When this "Google News" forum goes blank they'll know they've won. Only then will they proceed with the update.
I hope the update will come soon so it'll stick.

Congrats there liquidstar! Being signed to Warner Bros is an amazing accomplishment for any artist, I hope she goes multiple-platinum and you get to ride on her success!
By he way liquid you can probably get the effect you're looking for without the update, usually big news such as the one you're trying to promote will be caught by the freshbot! I wouldn't worry, the update will not be too important on your case.
This profession is too boring lately...we don't get to do nuthin new and exciting....Google is king and I kind a miss the old days of optimizing for 5 or 6 engines...sigh....

Since Jan 25, over 10 weeks ago, they have updated their permanent listings once. Since shortly after the early feb deepcrawl, after which nothing would appear in the Mar 6 update, slurp, fast, scooter, zyborg and others have been merrily finding my pages and putting them in their serps. I don't know if Google is just resting on their laurels or what, but if they control over 60% of the traffic, and they can't get around to doing an update more often than every 5 weeks, it's getting a bit shoddy. IMHO.
For the love of God GoogleGuy: PUSH THE BUTTON. Can't you see the mental anguish you are inflicting on webmasters? ;)
